In October 2019, CHT, a worldwide operating group of companies producing innovative specialty chemicals with a focus on sustainability, were in Victoria Falls for their annual group conference.
The event was organised by Nu Experiences Pty Ltd in collaboration with Matriarch Africa and included two days of conferencing as well as incorporating activities and evening events in and around Victoria Falls.
It has been a pleasure for us to work with Africa Conservation Travel (our partners with on the ground support) who facilitated an introduction between CHT and Love for Africa. During the conference, CHT presented a cheque to the Love For Africa Foundation, a generous donation of EUR 5,000 which will go towards the next innovation hub in Zimbabwe, as part of CHT's corporate social responsibility programme in giving back to the local community in the country where their conference was held, and in ensuring the education of future generations.
Earlier this year, Love For Africa in collaboration with Matter, implemented the "Innovation Hub" in Victoria Falls at Victoria Falls Primary School, the first of it's kind in Africa. The MATTER Innovation HUB (MIH) is a 21st-century classroom designed within a shipping container. Retrofitted with solar power, complete with AC and heat, and fully capable of delivering a world-class, leading-edge education.
Created in collaboration with Jamf, the MIH uses Apple products and curriculum to teach coding skills using robotic balls, drones, and physical and virtual coding blocks, whilst also incorporating literacy and math.
